Volunteer:
BEST OF SACRAMENTO
PARTY: Kevin Cohee
strongly believes
in Volunteerism and having volunteered for the March of Dimes’ Best of
Sacramento Party since 2002, it was an honor to be chosen as the organizations Featured Volunteer in
2008. His love of food inspired him to investigate helping out at the Best of
Sacramento party. "No one can recall how I ended up here," said Cohee, but he
has made the rounds of volunteer duties for the party. "I helped with a big
display one year, and the next was the balloon bouquets – that did not last too
long. "Then I helped straighten up the silent-auction tables. Now I manage
all the other silent-auction volunteers and help with deliveries and necessary
paperwork that shows up
that day." Cohee loves the excitement and what
the party says about Sacramento. "I am happy to be along for the ride, but the
forces to be reckoned with for this party are Joe Chiodo of the magazine and
Annie Blade at MOD," he said."

First of all, thank you! You have been one of
the best instructors I have ever had. This intern-ship was a dream come true and
one I could have never imagined to be so great. I know that I would not have
learned as much about the industry from anyone or any place else. What you have
taught me is invaluable. Even the situations that were not best served as the
some of the most valuable learning points. No matter what was going on,
everything was always a teaching moment. Although weddings were not my first
choice in events when I started, I know now that I definitely do not want to
plan them. Thank you for opening my eyes to that! I look forward to using what
I learned from you in the industry and, one day, be as successful as you are.
Anyone who has the chance to learn from you is very lucky.

“Working with Do An Event was my first foray
into the event planning industry and I don’t feel that I could have found a
better introduction. I gained valuable experience that I will carry with me for
the rest of my life and apply to my career.
Working alongside you, especially on a project as large as the
Race for the Cure, taught me so much about what goes into planning an event and
I learned a lot about myself as well. I cannot thank you enough for the
opportunity to work with your team in order to prepare myself for the future.
Your ability to teach and explain why things are done in a certain way made
this experience not only enjoyable, but incredibly beneficial.”

such a short amount of time. You truly care about your impact on society, and it
shows with your dedication to your interns. I now have the knowledge to pursue

I can count on for any professional or personal advice. You were an
amazing teacher who had the ability to teach, even through times of chaos as
we were setting up an event. You are the first one to pull an intern
